The Barratt white label is quintessential Adelaide Hills Chardonnay with fruit harvested on March 12 from a single high altitude vineyard near Lobethal in the northeastern part of the Adelaide Hills. The grapes were gently pressed to tank followed by yeast inoculation and fermentation before transfer to seasoned French oak barrels for 100% malolactic fermentation and maturation. Following stabilisation and filtration, the wine was bottled on December 10.
After a weather friendly, relatively dry season, fruit for this Chardonnay was harvested from a single high altitude vineyard near Lobethal in the northeastern part of the Adelaide Hills. The grapes were pressed gently and the juice transferred to tank for yeast inoculation and fermentation. At completion of fermentation, the resulting wine was transferred to seasoned French oak barrels for 100% malolactic fermentation and 8 months of maturation before stabilisation and filtration. The wine was bottled on December 10.
